From Heart of Stone to Heart of Flesh: How God Transforms Your Life
God is the original heart surgeon. In this passage of Ezekiel he is telling his people that he is going to replace their hearts in order to make them holy, set apart. They have been captives in Babylon and needed to understand God would not let them live like other cultures, worship other gods. As Christians, we have a similar message. We are to be set apart as the spotless Bride of Christ.
Finding Contentment in Caregiving: Trusting God When Life Feels Out of Control
Are you content with your life? Contentment is defined on gotquestions.org as “the state of being mentally or emotionally satisfied with things as they are.” Especially as a caregiver, you may feel this is a difficult thing to achieve when your days are full of uncertainty, difficult medical decisions, and bills. But the reality is that true contentment and rest in the Lord will be above the circumstances of your life.
Renewing Your Mind as a Caregiver: Finding Joy Instead of Resentment
I have a confession. For a couple of months earlier this year I got sucked into some viral videos where people read aloud messages left on Reddit boards. Long tales of ruined weddings, unfaithful spouses, and bad employers came with a laugh as the hosts gave advice on how the situation should be handled. What amazed me was how frequently people’s lives were being devastated by the selfishness of others. It is proof that we do indeed live in a sin-sick world, where people often prioritize their own needs above the needs of others.

From Trials to Testimony: Sharing God’s Love in Your Caregiving Journey
This passage is part of David’s Song of Thanks as he and the Levites brought the ark of the covenant to the city of David. He was celebrating, giving thanks to God who had brought his people through every trial. They played music with harps and lyres, dressed in fine linen robes, blew the shofar, and danced down the street in celebration. No one in the city could have missed that testimony.
A Caregiver’s Testimony of Joy, Peace, and Unshakable Hope
One day in 2016 I headed down to the doctor’s office to have an anatomy scan for my third child. Having done this twice before, I didn’t ask my husband to join me. I dropped off the older kids with a friend and looked forward to a few minutes of “me time.” Instead of relaxation, I received news that my daughter had a heart defect and that I would need to see cardiology the following Monday.
Faith in Action: How Caregiving Reflects Your Relationship with God
Caregiving strips us bare and exposes what is real in our faith. When routines are relentless and strength is limited, it becomes harder to rely on appearances or easy answers. What remains is our genuine belief. Ecclesiastes brings us back to the heart of our faith–a steady devotion to God and keeping his commandments.
Living Out Your Faith Together: Unity in the Body of Christ
Do you remember when you were learning to write a term paper in school? You learned that the intro told you what the subject was, the body of the paper defended that position, and the closing paragraph summed everything up. It should be pointed out that ancient writings don’t always fit this newer format, but in the case of today’s scripture, Paul has summed up his letter for the readers at the end. How handy!
Crying Out to God: Finding Strength in Difficult Seasons
To whom do you go in times of trouble? Most people would say they call a trusted friend or family member. Maybe a spouse or pastor comes to mind. Hopefully you know that you can take your burden to the Lord, who waits for you to lean on him for strength and protection.
A Caregiver’s Sacrifice: Serving God with What You Have
The widow’s offering illustrates to us the generous nature we should have as believers. Giving to the Lord cost the widow something. While the rich gave money out of their abundance the woman gave just two small coins. That small amount was of greater importance because of her poverty and need.
An Eternal Perspective: Finding Joy in the Midst of Trials
In the darkest, most taxing moments of caregiving, you may feel hope dwindling. Your mind is full of your daily tasks and frustrations. In your exhaustion you may forget all that God has done for you.
Don’t Let Busyness Steal Your Time with God
While caregiving we often get distracted by the myriad tasks that are set upon us. I remember mornings when I went through our med schedule on auto pilot because I hadn’t slept well. It’s a miracle I didn’t give the wrong dose. The whole day would be a fog. At the end of day I couldn’t tell you what I had done, but I knew I had been busy.
God Is Bigger Than Your Circumstances: Finding Hope Again
I am at a point in my walk with the Lord that I am realizing just how big He is. Putting God into a box wasn’t intentional, but I was at fault for it just the same. When I didn’t feel like He was working in my life, when I was overwhelmed by worldliness in my community, or when I didn’t feel like lives were being changed even within the church, I made the box smaller. And I let it get smaller, and smaller, and smaller.
